Observer Roles in the App

Observer Roles in the App

The Applysia App can be used either as a Web-App or as an iPad App. During an Assessment, you work exclusively in the App to evaluate and compare Candidates.

Not every Applysia User has access to the App, this depends on the User role you have been assigned to. You have been informed about this in the invitation email you received from "Applysia" or from a representative of your organization.

If you have been assigned the User role "Observer", you have access to the App and can log in.
If you have been assigned only this role, you will work exclusively in the App. If you are also an "Administrator" or "Organizational Administrator", you also have access to the Cockpit.
An overview and explanations of the different User roles can be found here

If you have been assigned the User role "Observer", you will be assigned to one of four different Observer roles with a different number of functions in the next step:

1. Normal Observer
  1. Viewing the consolidated values
  2. Viewing the Conference
2. Silent Observer
  1. No assessing
  2. Viewing the consolidated values
  3. Viewing the Conference
3. Lead Observer
  1. Consolidate the ratings of all Observers (for a specific exercise & a specific Candidate - only with activated Scheduler),
  2. Viewing the Conference
4. Moderator
  1. Consolidate the ratings of all Observers (for the entire Assessment),
  2. Start Conference and complete Assessment
Normal Observers actively participate in the Assessment by making ratings and notes on the Candidates' individual competencies. The ratings of other Observers are not visible to normal Observers. Normal Observers cannot perform the Consolidation. Once consolidated values have been set in the Consolidation, they are visible to normal Observers. The Conference can also be viewed after all ratings have been submitted and consolidated.

Silent Observers take part in the Assessment without making their own ratings and notes on the Candidates' individual competencies. However, they can see everything that normal Observers can see in the Assessment. Once consolidated values have been set in the Consolidation, they are visible to the silent Observers. The Conference can also be viewed after all ratings have been submitted and consolidated.

Lead Observers and Moderators have basically similar functions, but there is one main difference: Lead Observers can only consolidate single exercises (for which they were registered as Lead). Moderators can also consolidate individual exercises, but especially entire Assessments. Lead Observers are therefore like exercise-specific Moderators.

It is marked in the App under "Observers", who is the Moderator of the Assessment. If you are the Lead Observer (only possible if the Scheduler is activated), a "person icon" appears in the App for the respective exercise in the Schedule. If you are neither assigned the role of Lead Observer nor Moderator, then you are a Normal Observer
