Behavior Anchor

Behavior Anchor

Relevant for: Organisation Administrators, Administrators (see "User Roles in the Cockpit").
On the "Edit Template" page, after the "General", “Settings”, "Scale" and "Scale labels" sections, you will see the "Requirement-Exercise-Matrix". You can see how to create it and how to add and edit tasks and competencies in the article "Requirement-Exercise-Matrix".

Within the matrix / table you can add or edit Behavior Anchors for the task-competency combinations. As Behavior Anchors you can enter different behaviors of the Candidates, which the Observers can then observe and evaluate during the Assessment in order to better assess the competencies as a whole.
  1. If you see a "" in the matrix, then there is no Anchor(s) there yet
  2. If you see "[Number of] Anchors", then x Behavior Anchors have already been added and can be edited.

Add Behavior Anchors

To add a Behavior Anchor, click "" in the matrix. The "New Behavior Anchor" page opens. At the top of the page, you will find the corresponding task and competency of the new Behavior Anchor for orientation purposes.

You can add the Behavior Anchors in several ways.

  1. Click "Import" to add multiple Behavior Anchors at the same time. A new pop-up window opens where you can easily copy the Anchors. However, each Behavior Anchor to be added must be on a separate line. To add the Anchors, click on "Paste" and your entries will be inserted into the "Description" fields.
  2. To enter the Anchors individually, click in the "Description" field and enter your Behavior Anchors. To make a new field appear, click on "Add Behavior Anchor".
To copy anchors from one task / competency to another, click on "Import" and copy the Anchors already entered. You can now paste them into another task / competency as described above.

For each Behavior Anchor you can click to "Add a custom scale". Based on the behavior-based observation approach, you can enter here if different behaviors in an exercise should lead to different rating points of the requirements (e.g.: 1: Listens - 2: Listens and summarizes - 3: Responds to what is said - 4: Reflects deeply). The App then displays these behavior-anchored rating scales instead of the normal scale labels.
Please note that from now on, only those scale points to which a user-defined scale has been added will be displayed in the App. For example, if you only store scale labels for points one, three and five in the Cockpit, only these points will be displayed in the App.
This change only applies to newly added scale points. The behavioral anchors in Assessments that have already been created do not change as a result.
Once the custom scale is activated, buttons appear for each level of the selected scale. If you click on one of the buttons, a text field opens with the scale point, in which the behavior description for the corresponding Anchor can be inserted individually in each case. If you click on the "All-button", all text fields of the scale points will open at the same time. To delete a field again click on "x" on the right.

The custom scale labeling can be combined with the other Behavior Anchors without any problems.

To delete individual Anchors again, click on the "Recycle bin" at the top right of each Anchor.

To save the added Behavior Anchors, click "Save" at the top. You will then be taken back to the Requirement-Exercise-Matrix, where you can now see how many Behavior Anchors have been stored in each case ("x Anchors").

Edit Behavior Anchor

To edit a Behavior Anchor, click the corresponding "[Number of] Anchors" fields in the Requirement-Exercise-Matrix. The "Edit Behavior Anchor" page opens.
At the top of the page, you will find the corresponding task and competency of the edited Behavior Anchor for orientation. Below that, you can see all the Behavior Anchors that have been added so far.

You can edit the Behavior Anchors and custom scale labels by clicking in the corresponding field, as well as delete and add them individually, as described in the "Add Behavior Anchors" section.

If you want to delete all previously added Behavior Anchors within a task-competency combination at once, click "Delete" in the upper right corner.

To save the changes, click on "Save". You will then be taken back to the Requirement-Exercise-Matrix.

Copy Behavior Anchors

Behavior Anchors that have already been created can easily be dragged and dropped from one exercise to another exercise and thus be copied there. To do this, click and hold the corresponding "[Number of] Anchors" field in the Requirement-Exercise-Matrix and drag it to a "" field. The anchor(s) will then be copied and you will see how many Behavior Anchors have been stored in each case ("x Anchors").

You can adjust the copied Behavior Anchors at any time, as described in the "Edit Behavior Anchors" section, as well as delete and re-add them individually, as described in the "Add Behavior Anchors" section.
